To put a file or web site up to the Internet, you need an FTP program (File Transfer Protocol). Windows systems can use programs such as CuteFTP or WSftp. For the Macintosh a program called Fetch can be used. The key information you need to use for any FTP program is as follows:
Login Name .... (your user id, case sensitive, should be all lower case) Host Address ... (your domain name or assigned IP address) Password ........ (case sensitive)Do not include and prefixes to your domain name such as ftp, http or www Once you are logged in with FTP, the directory public_html is were your web site files need to be uploaded to. This is the only web viewable directory in your account. There are many files and directories in your account needed for proper account functionality. Never remove any files or directories from your account without checking with support first, unless you were the one who placed them there.
